QUOTE OF THE DAY : "Consciousness: That annoying interval between naps." - Unknown
SONG OF THE DAY : Rooney - The Floor
LINK OF THE DAY : We're all gonna die!
She is mine own,
And I as rich in having such a jewel
As twenty seas, if all their sand were pearl,
The water nectar, and the rocks pure gold.
Owww... My skin.
According to the above link, most of us are going to die. I think it's a little too alarmist to say that 5.5 billion people will die in the supposed oil crash.... I'm sure it will be a lot of people... But not that many. I can only hope that if I survive World War 3 my knowledge of the Mad Max movies and Fallout games will serve me well in the post-nuclear world.
I could go into great detail about the impending future, trust me I haven't got all my news from this guy. I'm doing an essay on this for school and I've researched it at great length. I'm lazy and have been ranting to all who will listen today so I'm all written out.
The bottom line is this. When China reaches the level of industry that the Western world is at right now, it will use as much energy in 1 year as the U.S. did in the entire 1970's. It doesn't take a genius to realize that the current way things are done can't continue with that kind energy consumption. We can just rely on alternative energy sources, right?
Yes we can, but we have to develop them first. With the Bush Administration in the pocket of the oil companies, they won't be spearheading an initiative for change any time soon.
The war will start the way everyone expects it to. Too many people, too little resources. While the 3rd world starves to death, The most powerful nations in the world will fight over the few places left with oil, and in the end the U.S. , and China will be nuking the crap out of one another.
No one can predict when this will happen, but it will eventually happen, if we don't smarten up soon. I hope and pray we can.
In other news, Conan O'brien is in Toronto! Two of my friends went to see him today, said it was awesome. I hope to somehow weasel my way into a show... but we'll see.
In personal life news, I've met a nice girl. She goes to school with me and shall remain nameless. We've been out a few times and things are looking pretty good.
Vaya Con Dios Amigos.
